The LVDS cable does not have a unified fixed number of pins. It is determined by the number of channels (single / dual channels), color depth (6bit / 8bit), and power supply / backlight control pins. The mainstream specifications are as follows:
1. The most commonly used standard PIN numbers (for consumer notebooks / monitors / industrial control screens)
1. 20PIN (Single channel 6bit / Dual channel 6bit, small low-resolution screen)
Single 6bit: Small-sized screens of 1024×768 and below (7-12 inch industrial control / old netbooks)
Dual 6bit: Early 1366×768 laptops
Composition: Differential signal pair + a small amount of power supply, ground, few pins, low bandwidth
2. 30PIN (The most common in the market, single 8bit / dual 6bit)
The most popular model, featuring the old 14/15-inch laptops, 15-17-inch ordinary monitors, and industrial control screens as the main products.
Single-channel 8-bit (5 pairs of differential signals): Maximum support for 1366×768
Dual-channel 6-bit: Supports 1440×900 low-resolution high-definition
Pins include: screen power supply, GND, 5 pairs of differential data lines, clock, enable control
3. 40PIN (Dual Channel 8bit, 1080P Mainstream)
Standard for 15.6~19 inch laptops and ordinary 1080P LCD TVs
Dual 8bit (10 differential signals), natively supports 1920×1080 Full HD
An additional 10 pins are used for the second channel differential signal, extra shielding ground, and backlight detection
4. 50/51PIN (Specialized for Large Screen TVs - LVDS)
The logic board cable for 32-inch and larger LCD TVs, featuring dual 8-bit + additional backlight/volume/screen identification pins, with many pins left empty.
5. 60PIN (Dual 10bit, High-End High-Color-Depth Large Screen)
Professional drawing display, large-sized high-end TV, 10-bit color depth, high refresh rate panel, maximum bandwidth
II. Special / Unique Specifications
14PIN, 25PIN, 31PIN: Small industrial displays, customized medical screens, rarely used in civilian applications;
Also, customized multi-PIN (70/80PIN), mostly used in special equipment.
III. Quick Distinction of Patterns
Single-channel LVDS: mostly 20/30 pins, with a maximum resolution of 1366×768;
Dual-channel LVDS: 40/50/60 pins, supporting resolutions of 1080P and above;
The number of pins for 6-bit screens is less; 8-bit/10-bit color depth requires more differential pins;
Even with the same number of pins, there are differences in terms of face-to-face/face-to-back, left power supply/right power supply. They cannot be directly interchanged.
Summary
The three most common types of daily maintenance and procurement are: 30PIN (low-end laptops from the old era), 40PIN (1080P laptops), and 51PIN (LCD TVs).
