These cover applications in consumer electronics, smart wearables, industrial equipment, and medical devices. Different parameters directly determine product cost, durability, and compatibility. Below is a comprehensive breakdown of the customization logic across each stage.

1. Customized Magnetic Connector Core (Determines Base Performance) 

The magnetic connector is a core component accounting for 30% to 45% of the total cost of the entire cable. It is divided into male connectors (at the end of the cable) and female connectors (at the device end), and all custom parameters are indispensable.

1.Pogo Pin pin configuration: The number of pins can be freely customized from 1 to 10PIN. 2PIN is only for basic charging. 4-7PIN offers both fast charging and data transmission. For more pins, it can also expand for audio, data, and identification signals. The pin spacing ranges from 2.0mm to 7.62mm and can be adjusted as needed. Industrial equipment commonly uses large spacing to enhance stability.

2.Magnet specifications and attraction force: The mainstream uses N35/N52 rare-earth iron boron magnets with an attraction force range of 150g-3000g. For mobile phone accessories, choose 300-800g to prevent pulling and breaking the charging cable. For industrial and medical equipment, select magnets of 1500g or above. In jarring environments, they are less likely to fall off. At the same time, additional anti-reverse concave-convex grooves can be added to avoid short circuits.

3.Current and waterproof rating:The standard is 3A/5A fast charging. For laptops and energy storage devices, 10A high current can be achieved. The waterproof rating ranges from IP54 for simple dust protection to IP68 for full waterproofing. For IP67/IP68, a dual waterproof structure of in-mold injection and O-ring sealing is required. This is suitable for beauty devices, underwater wearable equipment, etc.

4.Shape and structure: Circular magnetic suction (three-in-one fast charging for mobile phones), long-track magnetic suction (for tablets and industrial equipment), and custom shapes (smart glasses, physiotherapy devices). The output angle can be selected as 180° straight out or 90° with a bend, reducing the loss of wire bending.

II. Customization of Wire Material and Electrical Parameters

The wire material directly affects the charging speed, service life and feel. It is customized in three layers: inner conductor, middle shielding and outer sheath.

1.Core conductor: Pure copper with tin plating is the standard configuration. The fast charging cable uses a thicker 22-24AWG thick copper core to reduce resistance; for regular charging, 26-28AWG thin copper wire is selected; the multi-strand winding process enhances the bending life, and the wire can be bent up to tens of thousands of times without breaking. For data transmission cables, aluminum foil and woven copper mesh double-layer shielding are added to eliminate current interference.
2.Outer sheath material
PVC: The lowest cost, slightly hard, suitable for low-priced gift items;
TPE: Soft and environmentally friendly, good bending rebound, mainstream choice for mass consumption products;
TPU / Silicone: Resistant to low temperatures and oil stains, suitable for outdoor and medical equipment;
Nylon weaving: Wear-resistant and anti-tensile, high visual texture, the unit price increases by 0.3-0.8 yuan per piece, standard for high-end brand cables.
3.Size specifications: The cable length is 10cm for short keychain style to 5m for free customization of long cables; the cable body is divided into round wire, flat flat wire, and retractable storage wire. The flat type is anti-tangle and commonly used for portable gifts.

III. Function and Structure Customization (Differentiation by Application Scenarios)

1.Transmission function classification: Only charging mode, charging + USB2.0 data, USB3.0 high-speed transmission, three-in-one magnetic connection (Type-C/Lightning/Micro three-joint integrated); Exporting Apple products requires additional MFi certification.
2.Additional protective functions: Overload, overcurrent, short circuit protection chips are built-in, mandatory for children and medical equipment; Magnetic separation automatic power-off design to avoid damage to the device by dragging.
3.Special structure customization: Keychain portable short model, vehicle-mounted retractable magnetic cable, separate replaceable magnetic heads, multi-branch one-drag-two-magnetic cables; Industrial model adds a metal shell to enhance anti-drop and corrosion resistance performance.

IV. Appearance, Logo and Packaging Customization (Brandization Requirements)

1.Appearance color: The magnetic shell and cable can be customized in Pantone colors. The basic black and white colors are free of charge. For pastel colors, metal electroplating, matte spray painting, additional charges apply; the metal magnetic head can be subjected to anodizing and laser engraving textures.
2.LOGO processing: The cable is screen-printed with the LOGO, the magnetic head is laser-engraved with the LOGO, the shell has a relief logo. Small batch screen printing offers high cost-effectiveness, and high-end models use non-abrasive laser engraving.
3.Packaging classification: Simple OPP bag (for bulk gifts), colored card blister packaging (for e-commerce retail), colored box + instruction manual (for brand counters), gift box set (for high-end digital accessories); all packaging can be printed with brand text, parameters, and QR codes.

V. Certification, Costs and Customized Order Quantity Planning

1.Compliance Certification: For domestic sales in China, ROHS environmental certification is required; for exports to Europe, America, and Canada, CE and FCC certifications are necessary; for medical equipment, biocompatibility testing is added; for industrial products, UL safety certification is required. The fixed cost for a complete set of certifications is fixed and suitable for large-scale and long-term orders.
2.Cost Influencing Factors: Mold opening fee (non-standard and special-shaped magnetic heads require new mold opening; standard molds are exempt from this); material (braided wire is more expensive than TPE); order quantity (unit price drops significantly for orders over 10,000 pieces; order prices are higher for small gifts with orders starting at 500 pieces); waterproof and high-current configuration.
3.Delivery and Sample Production: Standard molds take 7 days to produce samples; new molds require 15 days for sample production; large-scale production takes 15-25 days for delivery; urgent orders can be expedited.

VI. Complete Customized Production Process

The first step is to confirm the requirements: specify the equipment voltage, current, PIN number, waterproofing, length and material. The second step is to create the drawing model, and the structural plan will be provided within 72 hours. The third step is to make the mold / select the mold and produce the sample. The fourth step is for the customer to confirm the sample, and then mass production will be carried out, including cutting, stripping, soldering, injection molding and assembly of magnetic heads, and full-function testing. The fifth step is to print the LOGO, pack and ship the products. Before leaving the factory, all inspections including current, adhesion force, and bending life will be completed, and the defect rate will be strictly controlled.
